Awards

Some wonderful bloggers have shown their love for our family, and I’m not just calling them wonderful because I’m one of them, and the other two are dear friends and Canvas authors (although it doesn’t hurt).  😉

So below we display them humbly, gratefully, and with a little bit of pride – because, when done right, you can be humble and proud at the same time.  And we at Canvas always do things right.  Original posts included.
Very Inspiring Blogger Award (by Monday)

I nominated Canvas for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  This may sound a little odd because it’s a group blog with many different writers, each of whom contributes something unique and individual to the group.  But that’s exactly why I nominated Canvas: the individuality, creativity, and support found through this blog is inspiring.

I won’t put down seven random facts about me, but I will extend the nomination to each blogger and commenter in this community.  Each and every one of you is inspiring because each and every day, you get up and you fight for your relationships, your jobs, your sanity.  That alone is inspiring.

So, here’s to you, and here’s to Canvas!

Awards And More Awards (by Ruby Tuesday)

So, our lovely Manic Monday yesterday wrote a post honoring all of us here at Canvas with the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  She, in turn, inspired me to write this up, to take care of a loose end and weave in a new strand.

So.  On the subject of awards, in January our own Tallulah “Lulu” Stark gave us a Versatile Blogger Award.  I honestly wasn’t sure how to handle that one, as there wasn’t much activity on Canvas around then, and hadn’t been for a while.  I gave it a tincture of time and an ounce of judicious neglect, as my pediatrician used to say.  And now I think it is a good time to post about it, to make the bloggers here who might have missed it aware, and to thank dear Lulu from everyone.

And don’t think I’m missing my chance, either.  I’d like to give to all of the authors a Liebster Blog award.  I got this idea when Monday let me know about her nominating the group.

There are so many versions about what this award means.  Okay, well I’m going to give you Ruby’s reason for sending it along to the Canvas authors.  I took German a million-and-a-half years ago.  I may not remember everything, but I do remember that the root of “Liebster”, lieb, comes from the infinitive form of the German verb lieben, which translates as ‘to love.’  And I love very much the wonderful family I have found here at Canvas.  I wanted to write out a sentence or two on what I find special in each person, but so many of the reasons are personal for me.  You see, things go on behind the curtain as well, and I don’t choose to blog about them.  I’m just grateful to have all of you in my life.

Now let’s get these lovely accolades displayed somewhere!

Merci, Gracias, Danke, And Thanks (by Ruby Tuesday)

It’s awards season here at Canvas again.  And just because I have been slightly delinquent in posting our thank yous, doesn’t mean that I have forgotten for one moment, or that we are any less grateful.

So, in chronological order:

Silverfox was so kind as to nominate us for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  I would like to give my thanks properly, but I am sad to report that when I clicked on the link to the post, I found that the site has been deleted.  😦  But, Silverfox, if you are reading this, know how very grateful we are for you honoring us.  Merci beaucoup!

Next, our own lovely Angel honored us by bestowing the Outstanding Blogger (or, as she pointed out, in this case Bloggers) Award on those of us at Canvas, in her post, Awards!  This is our first time receiving this one, which makes it that much more special.  Angel, a very outstanding blogger both on Mirth and on Canvas, muchas gracias!

lifeonaxis1 has given us the One Lovely Blog Award.  This is also a first for Canvas, and I think it’s awfully pretty.  So a heartfelt danke schon!  (I don’t know how to make the umlauts in a post.)

Finally, Angel demonstrated her kindness twice over by also giving to us the Reader Appreciation Award.  Another first!  Angel, you are a very sweet soul.  Thank you.

Whew.  I feel like we just swept the Oscars!  Though I know my speech was more than a bit lacking.  😉

So to make up for it, I say this.  I am so grateful for everyone involved in this project.  It is my privilege to work with some amazingly gifted writers here at Canvas, but more importantly, truly wonderful human beings.  Their strength, resilience, kindness, and humility make me so proud to call them my friends.

And to those of you who read, I am grateful beyond measure.  When Lulu and I started this, I had no idea what an amazing gift it would be in my life.  I don’t think she did, either, but I won’t go so far as to speak for her, as she is very capable of doing that for herself!  But we have all of you who read, comment, and inspire us to thank for what we have accomplished.

From the very bottom of my heart, lovelies.

More Accolades Abound (by Ruby Tuesday)

Yes, once again some very, very lovely bloggers have kindly honored Canvas with awards.

Ken, of the wonderful blog kenthinksaloud, thought fit to give us the. . .

(this never gets old), in his post Awards and Blogs you should read.  Ken is a great friend of mine, and knowing that he doesn’t do the award thing often makes it all the more special.  So a great big thank you from all of us at Canvas, and from me personally, for being so kind as to speak to your readers about us in this one.  It really does make for a true honor.

Next, we have a first time award for Canvas, graciously given to us by a beautiful soul, lovely woman, incredible friend, and oh, yes, our co-founder, Lulu.  Lulu has awarded to us. . .

. . . the I Love Your Blog Award.  You can read all the specifics in her post Showing Mad Love on her new project, Sunny With a Chance Of Armageddon.  Had you not heard she has a new blogging home?  Well now you have!  Go visit it to show her how much you love her blog!

This award is very sweet, and made all the sweeter by the woman who gave it to us.  Lulu puts her heart into absolutely everything she does, from her writing, to her friendships, to the love she shows this blog.  Lulu, we love you dearly for all that you do.

Addendum:  I missed one!

Our wonderful Family member PAZ, of Melancholically Manic Mouse, gave us the One Lovely Blog Award in her post I’ve Decided to Accept So I Can Nominate One Lovely Blog!  PAZ is someone I am so excited to have as a recent addition to Canvas, she’s fierce and funny and pretty damned lovely herself.  My most sincere apologies for the oversight, Ms. Mouse!

Don’t forget that these awards will find a permanent home on our aptly titled Awards page.  You can always find the love there.  😉
