Hello to all you amazing Canvas readers! Remember me? Maybe? Just a little? Clearly it has been a long time since I showed my lovely face around these parts. Some of that has been life, part of it has been Blog For Mental Health 2014, but most of it. . . Well, here goes.
The last post I wrote for Canvas, well, I started composing it at the end of 2013, moved on to actually writing it into March 2014, read and re-read the 1,800 words I had managed to knock it down to, and after all that I finally shelved it. To Our Dear Readers,
I know we have been a little shy on posts lately, for lots of reasons. I can only speak to my own issues. I have been fighting a depression — denying, refusing, admitting, and finally reaching out. It has left me very short on words, even so far as being able to respond to comments and emails. I thank all of you so very much for your patience. Please know that I am so grateful for your words of support, and I will respond to all of the wonderful, kind things you have said to me here, on my personal blog, and also on my newest child, a somewhat under the radar “mental health past and present blog” (explanation on the last forthcoming in another post). Last month, ManicMuses wrote about irritability and how she deals with it in her first post, Irritability – My Special Compass Point. I have to say that I applaud her for having a plan in place for when this flag is thrown, and I am also incredibly envious, because I rarely visit irritability-land, I go straight from being calm to being filled with murderous rage.
