In the blog project Blog for Mental Health 2012, a summons went out to all mental health bloggers. In this summons, Blog for Mental Health 2012 asked mental health bloggers from all reaches of the world with any diagnosis (es) to take a pledge. This pledge was the following:
I pledge my commitment to the Blog for Mental Health 2012 Project. I will blog about mental health topics not only for myself, but for others. By displaying this badge, I show my pride, dedication, and acceptance for mental health. I use this to promote mental health education in the struggle to erase stigma.
Today, hundreds of mental health bloggers display this badge proudly on their sites. They raise their voices as individuals to remove the shame of stigma and promote education, awareness, and advocacy for mental health disorders.
Today, I am making preparations for the new year. As we all know, 2013 is fast approaching. In order to get a head start, I have decided that I would release the Blog for Mental Health 2013 badge and pledge prior to 2013, so that others may get a lead on spreading the good word.
However, this year I am asking for audience participation. And what better way to promote community participation for a community project than by presenting this on a community blog!
This year, there are several different badges to choose from. I would like the public to take a vote, already started at Sunny with A Chance of Armageddon, if you want to take a look at some standings. Some are similar, since several suggestions have already been taken into account for the badges. If you have any additional suggestions for swapping of lettering and backgrounds, feel free to ask for a sample.
Drumroll please!

I love the marbles theme…”we’ve lost them”!
I’m sorry, I forgot to mention that we’re voting. Which do you like best?
I like the first one or the fifth one….can’t choose between those two but I agree with Shelly I love the marble theme mine are all rolling around the floor 🙂 xx
It seems like everyone is leaning toward the first one. And I think everyone has swayed me toward it too!
The first one is definitely my favorite!
I’m glad to hear any are a favorite!
I like the first one best; the image just “speaks to me” or somesuch nonsense. But my runner-up pick is the last one – the image is intriguing if you look a bit closer and I like the text alignment.
You could also do #1 with the “2013” left or right aligned, and either would look good. Slightly more balanced on the right from my (utterly anal about symmetry) perspective.
Agreed. I think right aligned might be better in this case.
I like the text in #1 and the image in #2
The black text doesn’t work with number two. I attempted it, and had to end up making it white.
Well then I’ll jump on the 5b train.
LOL, conveniently named!
I like the one where the marbles are spilling out (5b). That’s me right there.
Everyone seems to have an affinity toward 1 and 5b. I have a feeling those will be close to the winners.
I’m loving 5a and 3. When is Blog For Mental Health Month?
Hi Jennifer! Blog For Mental Health is actually a year-long campaign our lovely Lulu created, and is in full swing right now! You can see the winner, read a bit more about the project, and find out how you can join in here: Blog For Mental Health 2013.
